TransAction+ and NorthStar Order Entry Flowchart (WIP)

This is the communication stream when a payment is taken at a site set up with TransAction+ as the processor.

Familiarization with TransAction+ setup is needed to understand this flow - TransAction+ Documentation (Cheesecake) WIP

Flowchart Steps

  1. Credit Card button is pressed on the Terminal.

    1. Communication sent to Order Entry service and NorthStar Transaction+ service.

There is a difference between NorthStar TransAction+ service (Part of NorthStar Services Installed with Order Entry) and T+ service (Seperate TransAction+ software installed - similar to NetePay/Datacap).

  1. Communication transmits to TransAction+ Device Manager on terminal.

  2. Flow continues to T+ service software.

  3. Communication transmission request flows to processor.

  4. Processor acknowledges request and returns to T+ service.

  5. T+ communicates with TransAction+ Device Manager on terminal.

  6. Data flows back to NorthStar TransAction+ and Order Entry services.

  7. Transaction acknowledged and displays on NorthStar Windows Application.
