Guest User Interface - Configuration and Use

Summary

The guest user interface is used when guests interact directly with the POS software either in Guest Facing or Kiosk operation mode. (Operation mode is configured by location in Area settings in ECM. More below.)

In the guest user interface, guests place their orders and complete payment on the POS device app, often a device at their table or at a kiosk. Settings specific to the guest-facing operation mode are configured in ECM on the Guest Facing page. This includes enabling specific settings in this mode, how gratuities are presented to guests, languages available and more.

Configuration

Guest UI configuration is set by site for overall functionality, then locations within an area are configured to use the guest facing settings.

The look and feel of the guest user interface can be customized from the Guest UI configuration settings. (See Guest UI - archive for more details.)

Guest Facing site configuration

Configure the settings available in the guest UI, such as favorites, gratuities, languages and more. (Example: Payment not allowed can be used In kiosk mode to bypass guest payment and send items immediately to the kitchen once orders are submitted. Guests can pay a server or cashier.)

Location configuration

After configuring the guest-facing settings for the site, set locations to use Guest Facing or Kiosk as the Default Operation Mode.

Access Guest Facing location on application

  • On the app, go to Location Manager and attach to a guest-facing location

  • After attaching to a location, tap Log out to change from Staff user interface to Guest Facing user interface
