Summary 

In guest-facing mode, an area and location can be configured to require credit card pre-authorization before the guest can order.

Configuration 

CC Pre-Auth is a location setting:

• Site > Areas > select area > 

  • Edit - Area - flag Pre Auth 

• Go to Locations

  • Select location 

  • Select CC Pre Auth 

Open

• Deploy site

Operation

• In Guest-facing mode, if CC pre-auth is set, the guest will be asked to swipe their credit card to begin. 

• After swiping their credit card, the screen returns to the guest-facing screen (either menu selection, featured items or a default menu) to allow the guest to begin ordering items.  

• Guest orders items; when ready to pay check, guest taps I want to pay

• On payment option screen, guest taps Use the card I swiped earlier

• Guest selects tip amount and taps Next

• Guest signs on signature screen and taps Charge my card

  • Since guest signs on screen, guest does not sign on printed receipt 

• Guest taps desired receipt option 

• If email option is selected, guest enters email address

• Guest confirms on confirmation screen 

• Check is paid on guest UI. Server will finalize the check on the staff-facing UI. 

• Payment receipt is printed
