Featured items/categories - Guest-facing Start screen
Summary
Menu items and menu categories can be configured to be featured on the home page of the guest-facing UI.
Configuration
Featured menu item
- Select Featured on the menu item page for the item to be featured (can be selected when either adding or editing a menu item)
- Save and deploy change
Featured menu category
- Go to Categories > Menus
- Click the edit icon (pencil) next to the menu on which the category will be featured
- Example: A "breakfast promos" category would only be featured on a breakfast menu
- Go to Menu Item Categories and select Featured for the category
- Save changes and deploy to the site
Operation
In guest-facing mode, the home page will show the featured item and feature menu category configured.
To order:
- Tap a featured item or category to go to the ordering screen for that item or to the category.
- Tap Start ordering ... to go to the menu.
If more than one menu is available on the site during the current day part (e.g., a Happy Hour and a regular dinner menu), the menus will take precedence and will be displayed; the featured items and categories will not be displayed.
