Guest UI - Ordering Overview
Summary
Actions guests can take on the ordering page include:
Order menu items
View item details
Increase/decrease quantities
Remove items from order
Save favorites
Customize orders
Order combos
Send orders by course (e.g., send beverages and appetizers to kitchen first)
These options may vary according to the site's configuration.
Ordering
Basic ordering workflow
Select menu (left panel)
Select items to order (center panel)
Ordered items display under My Order (right panel)
Tap Place my order
When ready to pay, tap I want to pay
Note: Place my order and I want to pay are disabled if no items have been ordered
Order menu items
Tap a menu item to see more details, increase/decrease quantity and more.
Tap Order to order the item.
Ordered items will appear in the My Order panel (right)
Expand My Order panel
Expand the My Order panel to view details about the ordered items.
Remove item from order
To remove an item from an order, tap the item under My Order
Tap Remove
Place my order
A prompt may remind the guest to place their order
Tap Place my order
Tap Yes, place my order to submit the order for preparation
The order is submitted and I want to pay is enabled
When ready to pay, the guest taps I want to pay to begin the payment process
Save Favorites
The guest must be logged into their account to save a favorite item.
To save a menu item as a favorite, "Allow Save to Favorite" must be selected in the menu item's ECM settings.
Order the item
Tap the ordered item under My Order
Tap the gold star to save the item as a favorite
Tap My Account > Favorites to view Favorites for the account.
Tap Add a group to create a group (Maria's Lunch, Dinner Faves), then add the favorites to the group.
To modify a favorite, tap the right-facing caret next to the item.
Select an option to Cancel, Delete, Rename or Order the item.
Menu item customization
To add components to an item, tap Customize
On the customization page, select the items to be added or deleted from the menu item
Component categories are shown at left; default components that come with the item are shown at right.
To remove a default component, tap the X.
Tap a category to expand it and see the components in the category.
Tap the + sign to add a component to the order
Cheese 1 added and shown under Will be served with at right
Tap Add this to my order. A confirmation screen displays the components on the order.
Tap OK or Cancel

Walk guest through ordering process
There is an option to walk guests through the ordering process by configuring the following in ECM:
Go the menu item that will allow the walk-through process
Select Automatically walk guest through ordering process
Go to a component category used in the menu item
Select Automatically walk guest through ordering process
In the guest facing screen, tap Need help? Let me walk you through this.
Prompts will guide the guest through each component category and component selection.
Combo order
Tap a combo menu item, then tap Order.
The combo customization screen for the item will display.
Qualifiers (items required to make up the combo) are shown on the left; selected items and quantity required are shown on the right.
Tap a qualifier category, then tap a menu item in the category to select.
Tap Add to Combo.
Tap the next qualifier category, then tap a menu item in the category to select.
Tap Add to Combo.
Note: This menu item has serving options to further customize the item.
Select serving option(s) and tap Add to Combo.
Continue until all required qualifiers for the combo have been ordered. (See right panel.)
Tap Add this combo to my order

Checkbox modifications view
A menu item can be configured to use a checkbox customization screen for selections instead of adding and removing items from the left and right panels.
To configure:
CBS system administrator must enable feature toggle: 4.8 Menu item: Checkbox modifications setting
In ECM, go to a menu item with components and/or serving options
Select Guest-facing: Use checkbox modifications
On the guest-facing app, select the item from the ordering screen.
Tap Customize. The menu item customization screen is shown using checkbox selection.
Select the customizations wanted
Tap Add to Order

Order by Course
In ECM, menu items can be configured to belong to prep categories. The prep categories are associated with prep courses.
Configuration:
In ECM, go to Categories,
Go to Prep Course
Add a Prep Course, e.g., Beverage
Go to Prep Categories
Add a Prep Category, e.g., Prep Cat Beverage
Select a Course, e.g., Beverage
Go to Products > Menu Items. Select a menu item.
For Prep Category, select the prep category wanted, e.g., Prep Cat Beverage
The menu item can now be ordered as part of a course
Application:
Order one of more menu items that have been configured for coursing.
Tap Place my order
A pop-up will show the items in different courses. Select the items to be sent to the kitchen for preparation now.
Tap Continue
Note that My Order shows the items that have been sent as Sent to ...
If additional items are configured for coursing, a prompt will remind the guest to submit their next course.
Send the next course. Continue until all items have been sent to the kitchen.
