Take Control/Release
Summary
The Take Control/Release function enables a user to take control of a location (table, counter, etc.) that another user is attached to. It can be used when a server needs the assistance of a manager, for example. Both users have access to the session and both can perform certain operations such as adding items to the check. When the user with control performs certain critical operations, though - submitting an order, performing adjustments, taking payments - the original user is locked out of the session while these actions are performed.
Allowable actions are managed through the Job permissions assigned to a user. With the appropriate permissions, when a user is locked from a session, they may be able to take control, detach from the location or log out. Alternatively, a user may give up control by releasing the session. This returns control to the original user.
Note:
Multiple devices can be attached to a table and order at the same time. Tables update in real time, so other users will also see any changes made by other users to the table and check.
