Manage Tips
Summary
Use the Manage Tips function to add or adjust the tip on a check that meets the following criteria:
- Reopened check from the current day
- Check has been paid with a credit card
For example, if a customer forgot to add a tip to their check before paying or would like to adjust the tip amount after paying, the manager can use Manage Tips to add a tip to the check.
This tip adjustment can only be used on checks that have been paid by credit card. (Tips can also be adjusted in other ways through the payment screen.)
Operation
Order an item from the menu and send it to the kitchen.
Once the item has been processed, tap Payment.
Swipe a credit card and select Apply Payment.
Finalize the check without adding the tip (duplicating a scenario where the user forgets to add the tip at the time of payment).
One way to add tips to one or more closed checks is use the Manage Tips button on the Location Menu.
Tap Manage Tips, by default it will show checks with $0.00 tips only (turn off at the top left)
Tap the Tip for the check to be updated and enter the tip amount, then tap OK. Repeat if updating tips on multiple checks.
Tap Apply to process all the updated check tip amounts
All successfully updated checks with Tips will appear in the upper left, and any declines on the upper right. Tap Close when completed.
Another way to add a tip is to edit a single check:
Tap Check Search to reopen the check to apply the tip that was missed at the time of payment.
Locate the check and then reopen.
Then tap Payment, Payment screen will open and tap Add Tip
The Tips pop-up will open and show all the checks for this session. (If checks were split, for example, more than one check would appear on this screen.)
Tap the blue icon to open the numerical keypad.
Enter tip amount using the keypad. Tap OK to apply the tip to the check.
Alternatively, tips may still be adjusted the same way they are added to a normal check (one that has not been reopened).
