Finalize

Summary

After full payment has been received and applied to an order, the staff user may select Finalize to end the current session and make the location available for a new session. 

There must not be any remaining balance before finalizing the session. 

Unfinished transactions

Payments that aren't finalized are considered unfinished transactions when the site closes at end of day. Payments are not processed if the check is not finalized. 

Credit card payments: Swiping the card and applying the payment gets the initial authorization from the processor. The payment will not be completed and posted by the processor until the check is finalized. 



Configuration

A staff user must be assigned to a job that has the following permission set in Jobs:

User is allowed to perform the Finalize/Wipe and Swipe procedure. 

Operation

After full payment has been received and applied, the staff user taps Finalize on the payment screen to complete the session on the attached location. The location is now available to start a new session. 

Note: Finalize is a staff function and is not available in Guest-facing mode. The staff user must log in to finalize the session.
