Add/Edit a Pricing Override

Summary

A pricing override is used to apply special pricing to a menu item when it appears on a specific menu. 
To add or edit a pricing override in ECM, go to Financial > Pricing Overrides. 

  • Add - click Add Pricing Override

  • Edit - Click the edit (pencil) icon for the pricing override 

Configuration 

Whether adding or editing, the following fields/options appear on the pricing override setup screen: 

  • Name - Name of the pricing override adjustment 

  • Description - Description of the pricing override adjustment 

  • Adjustment Options - Select one: 

    • Percent Adjustment - Overrides the menu item's base price and adjusts it by a specific percent

    • Dollar Amount Adjustment - Overrides the menu item's base price and adjusts it by a specified dollar amount 

    • Fixed Price - Overrides the menu item's base price and replaces with a fixed price for the menu item

  • Report as an Adjustment 
    Users can opt to report menu item pricing overrides as adjustments for reporting purposes. If they select this option, the following appear: 

    • Calculate tax after discount is applied - Flags the system to calculate tax on the discounted price of the menu item

    • Adjustment External Code - Allows the user to add an external code (used for third-party integrations) 

  • Save - Save changes and close the window 

  • Cancel - Cancel changes and close the window

Application 

In the example, an item has been ordered from the breakfast menu. The item has been configured to apply a percent discount pricing override when ordered from the breakfast menu. 

The special pricing is indicated by the red tag icon and the note below the item ordered.
