Team Assignments

Summary

JOB PERMISSION REQUIRED

The user performing the team assignments must use a job that has permission for these actions.

Server teams can be created and assigned to locations to provide guest service by more than one server. 

  • Team management
    • With permission set, a user can add, modify and delete server teams.
    • Multiple servers can be assigned to a server team on the app using Server Teams (Cashier Menu). 
    • Sales and tips are distributed (percentages are evenly allocated to all members on a team). 
  • Assign team to location
    • A team can be assigned to one or more locations.
    • On the Location Manager via Team Assignments: tap location, tap Assign Team, tap team name to assign.
    • A team must have members when assigned to a location (OE-11037)
    • When a team is assigned to a location, an individual server cannot be assigned to the same location (OE-11041) 
  • EOD clears all teams


Configuration 

A user must have job permission to create server teams, assign/unassign servers to teams and assign teams to locations on the location map. 

  • Users > Jobs > Permissions 

Operation 

Create server team

  • From Cashier Menu, tap Server Teams

  • The Server Teams page will display a list of staff.
  • To add a team, tap the + sign at the bottom and use the keypad to enter the number of teams needed. Tap Go

  • Add staff to a team: tap the staff name from the list, then tap a team to add. Tap Done when complete.
    • Multiple names can be tapped to select at once; select the names then tap the team to add. 
    • A team must have members in order to be assigned to a location. 

  • The percentage shown is the tip percentage allotted to each member of the team. 

Assign server team to locations

  • From Location Manager, tap Manage, then tap Team Assignments

  • Tap a location (it will be highlighted) then tap Assign Team (lower right). 
  • The Select Team pop-up will display.
  • Tap a team to assign it to the selected location; tap Done to close the pop-up
    • Use the search field to search for a team when there are many teams

  • After closing the pop-up, tap Publish to apply changes or tap Cancel to discard changes.


  • When Team is selected on the Location Map, the team number will display on the assigned location. 

  • An individual server cannot be assigned to a location that already has a team assigned to it. The following message will display:

  • Only members of the team can attach to the assigned location to take orders, payments, etc. 
  • A staff member who is NOT on the team cannot attach to the location. If they try to attach, the location will be masked to block access and the user will be notified that the location is owned by the team.
