Check search - archive

Summary

The Check Search feature is used to locate checks created within the last 90 days. This includes open, closed, and scheduled take-out order checks. Allowable actions on the checks depend on their state and the day: 

  • Open checks: Can open and make adjustments to the open check before payment and finalization
  • Closed checks - Current business day: Can be reopened in order to make changes and corrections to the check
  • Closed check - Previous business day: Can be reopened (read-only) only to reprint or refund the check
  • Scheduled take-out order checks
    • Check not sent to the kitchen: Can be reopened and adjusted 
    • Check sent to the kitchen (either via scheduler or manually): The check is now read-only and cannot be adjusted

Operation

To open the Check Search feature:

  • Attach to a table
  • Swipe to the Location Menu 
  • Tap Check Search to open the Check Search pop-up

By default, Check Search opens to display any checks that meet the following criteria:

  • From: Start of Day
  • To: Now

The search options can be changed to search for a closed check within the last 90 days. Click the From or To link to open the date and time selector. Tap Done, then Search to refresh the search criteria and display the new list. 


Search criteria options: 

  • By Date
    • Tap Check Search. The default search options are from Start of Day and to Now.
    • To change the time or date of the search, tap on Start of Day. A pop-up will open where the user can change the time and date.
    • On the bottom left of the pop-up, change between Today and Date.
    • Tap Search to refresh the Checks Found section. Any check that was created during the set time will be displayed.
  • By Approximate Amount
    • Tap the text field under Approx. Amt. to open the numerical keypad.
    • Enter the approximate amount of the check's balance. Do not include tip into the check's balance. 
    • Tap Search to refresh the Checks Found section. Any check that has a balance within $5 of the approximated balance will be displayed.
  • By Location Number
    • Tap the text field under Location Number to open the numerical keypad.
    • Enter the number of the location that the check was created on.
    • Tap Search to refresh the Checks Found section. Any check that was created on that location will be displayed.
  • By Card
    • Tap the text field under Last 4 Digits on Card to open the numerical keypad.
    • Enter the last four digits of the card that was used to pay the check. 
    • Tap Search to refresh the Checks Found section. Any check that was paid for with a card that ended with the four digits will be displayed.
  • By Owner
    • Tap the blue plus sign to open a list of possible check owners.
    • Tap on an owner's name to select it. Multiple owners can be selected at one time.
    • Tap Search to refresh the Checks Found section. Any check that was created by any owner selected will be displayed.

Filter by Order Types

The check search results can be filtered by tapping Order Types and selecting the desired order types, session types and/or status.
