NorthStar Windows Application Installation Instructions
Use the following steps to install the NorthStar Order Entry Windows application for a PC or Windows terminal.
A CBS representative will provide the installation file.
Pre-condition
Before starting the installation, verify the hardware and software meet the system requirements.
Verify PowerShell Execution Policy is not restricted
Depending on your machine and privilege level, you might not be able to install the app.
If you experience an issue with the Powershell installation, open Powershell as an Administrator then type:Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned Press Enter Accept any or all requests from the Powershell prompt
Installation
Download file and run Installer
A CBS representative will provide the installation file/link. The link name should be: https://orderentry-pos-upgrades.cbsnorthstar.com/(Winapp Version Number)/NorthStar.OrderEntry.POS.Setup.exe
Click link and download version link posted.
Run installer as admin.
File name - NorthStar.OrderEntry.POS.Setup.exe
Agree and click Install till completion.
Control Panel will now have a new installed program for NorthStar Windows Application.
Windows Application Installation/Upgrade
Navigate to C:\Program Files\Custom Business Solutions\NorthStar Order Entry POS
Right-click on NorthStarOrderEntryPOSInstall and run with Powershell.
NorthStar Windows Application installation completed.
Uninstallation
Two-part Removal of Windows Application
Right click on Order Entry Application in Windows and Uninstall.
Navigate to Control Panel and uninstall NorthStar.OrderEntry.POS.Setup.
Completed.
Note - New Version Installation
You cannot install a new version OVER the current version. You have to uninstall NorthStar.OrderEntry.POS.Setup first.
After uninstallation, you can install the new NorthStar.OrderEntry.POS.Setup then go to section - NorthStar Windows Application Installation Instructions | [hardBreak]Windows Application Installation/Upgrade
