Does this require feature toggle 4.8 Enhanced adjustment, combo, coupon parsing? Not stated on OE-16065 or OE-15584
Also OE-13447 says Qualifier Price Rule applies to setting Auto combo when scanned. Can't find where it applies to Auto combo in staff UI, which was added in OE-16065.
Summary
With the auto combo feature, when qualifying menu items are ordered, they are combined automatically on the payment screen to create a combo that will provide the best value to the guest.
Configuration
- Add a Combo Menu Item
- Select: Auto combo in staff UI
When this setting is selected, if menu items that qualify for a combo are ordered on the app, NorthStar will automatically create a combo.
- Combo is triggered by tapping Send, Print or Payment
- Combos are created by seat number (if applicable)
- If new items are added, the combo will be re-triggered on Send, Print or Payment to the new best value
- Items will not be automatically combined into a combo if payment exists on a check
- Add/Edit a Job
- Go to Users > Jobs > Workflow tab. The setting Do not suggest combo last should be disabled.
Operation

If navigate back to ordering, items are uncombined
If items qualify for more than one combo, the one with the greatest discount will be applied
Combo is finalized when paid; returning to ordering screen will not uncombine if combo has already received payment

- After seating the table, order a combo item.
- After tapping the item, the combo qualifiers screen will automatically be shown (below)
- Order qualifiers as required to complete the order.
- Note the number required for each qualifier.
- Tap Add to Order.
- On the Ordering screen, the combo can be shown as a single item. Tap the combo name to expand and view the list of qualifiers.
- Note: Combo menu items cannot be reordered by tapping Reorder on the info menu overlay.
- In the example, the combo is configured as a prevailing, single combo, meaning that a single price is set for the combo and the child items (qualifiers) within the combo are set to $0.00.
