Set up all of the LS600 control units hardware to power, Monitor, network and bump bar.

To set IP addresses to the LS600 unit:

  • Use a pen or pointed object to press the reset button on the front of the unit.
  • During Reboot, press the down arrow/scroll button on the bump bar
  • Use the right arrow/home button to scroll to Ethernet tab
  • Enter the IP address by using the numbers on the bump bar
  • Move to next octet by pushing the enter button on the right side of the numbers
  • Once IP address entered, scroll with right arrow/home button to exit tab
  • Use the enter button to save and exit

After setting up your LS600 units, open up the Logic Controls KDS Software to begin configuring the system on the PC server in the upper control bar.

Click on the Sys Setting icon.

To pull the XML from the right place,  choose Files  from the Order Source and browse for the correct folder.  For NSOE it will be  Program Files>Custom Business Solutions> NorthStar Order Entry>Kitchen Output.

After setting up the correct Order Source to get the files from, configure the Stations/Kitchen monitors by setting IP addresses.

Under the settings tab,  on the left, there are available LS# stations.  These stations will later align directly with the external code.  LS#1 will be entered as External Code (1). LS#2 >External Code(2) and so on.

Double click on the LS# station on the left.  This will prompt the Setting pop up.  From here, all setting configurations are available per station and bump bar.

In the IP and Screen Mode, the IP will need to correspond to the LS unit.  The Expediter function on the right will send all items from other stations to this stations and act as an Expo screen.  If using this function, there does not need to be a designated station in Order Entry. Can start putting external codes in as (2), (3), (4).  Because (1) is designated as an Expediter station in Logic Controls.

In the Main Screen Property tab of the station settings pop up, set up the screen titles and panel display mode.

In the Bump Bar Key Assignment  tab on the right, choose the appropriate bump bar set up. In this case it is Option D. These will correspond to the keys on the bar and what functions to assign to it.  Clicking on the KEY SET option on the Bump key, will allow choosing what function corresponds to the key.

To display Server Names on the Logic Control screens you will have to setup the Order Property to include Server Name(s)

Once all these are set,  make sure to Run the program on the top left of the  Software.

To mimic a Logic Controls database, with everything set up in this Document to standardize multiple stores/location, copy(and drop in) these highlighted files in the Logic Controls KDS folder.

On the ECM side, there are external codes that need to be associated with the Location/Station in the Area of a Site.

Having a Designated Kitchen Area works well.  Then in the Edit screen of the Kitchen Area, add the Kitchen Locations/Stations

Within the Edit screen of each location, the External Code corresponds to the LS# Station built in Logic Controls.

Note:  Make sure the Location Type is set to Kitchen
