Logic Controls LS6000 - Setup and configuration

Install software

Install the latest Logic Controls software:

Or you can install from this zip file:

Set up the LS6000 control units to power, monitor, network and bump bar.

Use a pen or pointed object to press the reset button on the front of the unit
On the bump bar device (below):
- During reboot, press the down arrow/scroll button on the bump bar.

- From the LS6000 Parameter Setup Screen, scroll to the Ethernet tab using the right arrow/home button.

- Navigate to Ethernet and enter the IP address by using the numbers on the bump bar.
- Move to next octet by pushing the enter(return) button (to the right of the numbers).
- After entering the IP address, use the right arrow/home button to scroll to the exit tab.
- Press Enter to save and exit.

After setting up your LS600 units, open the Logic Controls KDS software to configure the system on the PC server.

Specify the directory where the XML file will be pulled from (Kitchen Output folder) in order to display on the kitchen monitor
- In Order Source, select Files.
- Click the ellipsis (...) to browse for the correct folder.
- For NSOE, go to: Program Files>Custom Business Solutions> NorthStar Order Entry>Kitchen Output.

Set IP addresses to configure the stations/kitchen monitors
- Select LS Setting
- The left panel shows a list of available LS# stations. These stations will later align directly with the external code set up in ECM. LS#1 will be entered as External Code (1), LS#2 > External Code(2), etc.

- Double click the LS# station on the left. This launches the Setting pop-up. From here, all setting configurations are available per station and bump bar.
  - IP and Screen Mode
    - The IP address should correspond to the LS unit.
    - Under Station Function (on the right), select Expediter. With this setting, all items from other stations will be sent to this station, which will act as an Expo screen. If using this function, there does not need to be a designated station in Order Entry.
    - External codes: External code (1) is designated as an Expediter station in Logic Controls. External codes can be entered as (2), (3), (4).

- Main Screen Property
  - Set up the screen titles and panel display mode.
    Default format is the format that will be displayed on the kitchen monitor.

- Bump Bar Key Assignment
  - Choose the appropriate bump bar set up. In this case, it is Option D. These will correspond to the keys on the bar and the functions assigned to it. Click the KEY SET option on the Bump key to choose the function that corresponds to the key.

- Order Property
  - To display Server Names on the Logic Control screens, you will have to set up the Order Property to include Server Name(s)

After completing these settings, Run the program (on the top, left of LS Setting).

To mimic an existing Logic Controls database from another site, with everything set up in this document to standardize multiple stores/location, copy the files highlighted below from the existing site's Logic Controls KDS folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Logic Controls KDS) and drop them into the Logic Controls KDS folder on the new site:

This is if you already have an existing setup and want the newly installed location to match your main site's KDS setup.

In ECM, add Locations to Areas within the site. and add the external codes to the Locations.

Select each location and enter the external code that corresponds to the LS# Station built in Logic Controls.
Note: Make sure the Location Type is set to Kitchen

Kitchen tab - On the Kitchen tab, select the desired settings:
- Presentation mode: set how to show components
- Consolidate like items on kitchen outputs: when multiple like items are ordered, set whether they should be consolidated or displayed separately

Menu items - To set menu items to display on the Logic Controls monitor:
- Select the menu item, then Print Routing.
- Checkmark the areas where the item should print/display.
