Configuration

Setting Up a New Scale

  1. In Enterprise Content Management (ECM), select click on the Sites page under the Sites tab at the top and edit the site (by clicking the pencil icon on the left of the site name).
  2. From the Edit Site tab, select the Scales tab and add new scale.
  3. Name the new scale and set the COM port and, if necessary, select to disable it. Save and proceed.

For setting up a weighed item:

  1. In ECM, select the Menu Items tab, then select Edit a Menu Item.
  2. In the edit menu item window, there will be a flag titled “sell by weight.” Select that option to turn it ON.
  3. Enter a value for the tare weight (the weight of the container item will be in)
  4. Save all changes. The price per measurement of the item will show on the iPad ordering screen when expanded (select the item on the order screen to expand).
  5. Click the pencil icon next to the site you would like to add a scale on.
  6. Click Peripherals; then click the Scales tab.
  7. Click Add new record.
  8. Enter the name of the scale and its Com Port.

Setting Up a Weighed Item:

Click Menu Items under the Financial tab.

Be sure to mark the Sold by Weight box before finalizing.

Operation

An item must be placed on the scale before tapping the item that is sold by weight. The weight of the item will below the item on the check summary. It's price is multiplied by the unit of calculation configured in ECM.
