1. Introduction

This document provides information about the latest updates for NorthStar for your restaurants point-of-sale system.

2. Special Considerations During ECM Upgrades

NorthStar ECM upgrades occur within our cloud servers in the early morning and are not location based. In order to properly access ECM, please make sure you have a constant internet connection and firewalls allow access to our ECM website at ecm.cbsnorthstar.com. Please refer to our System Requirements for information on firewall allowances and access.   



3. New Features

NOTE: These are ECM items only. In some cases the application portion of the work will be provided in a future application release.

  • Payroll Summary Report - New report to view employees payroll data this includes but is not limited to Regular Wages, Paid Breaks, Regular Hours, Declared tips, Pay rate, and much more.



4. Improvements

NOTE: These are ECM items only. In some cases the application portion of the work will be provided in a future application release. 

  • Better tracking for user deployment times and details.
  • The PDF and CSV export of the Component Sales Report in ECM has had its format changed to be more user friendly. 



5. Fixes

  • General promotion on Guest Facing and Kiosk modes is now honoring multiple items selected for the promotion.
  • Rules of components when editing a menu item no longer turn grey when a specific site is selected. 
  • After saving changes to Peripherals there will no longer be a message stating the com port is in use unless the com port is actually in use.
  • When deleting several Screen Savers in a row ECM will no longer stay on the message "Do you want to delete this record?"
  • Menu item settings for the barcode can now be saved on the site level. 
  • ECM reports works correctly when using Internet explorer and safari. 
  • Delay seconds on a promotional item can no longer be set to 0. Minimum delay seconds will now be set to 1. 
  • "Save", "Cancel', and "Apply" show again when editing a newly created component. 
  • If no media is chosen when associating media to a menu item category a prompt will now come up warning the user to associate a media to the category or cancel.
