4.8 Fresh KDS Kitchen System 

Added an account feature toggle for the Fresh KDS configuration. 

When the feature toggle is selected for the account ,"Fresh KDS" settings become available in ECM.

Areas > Location: Add ability to select Fresh KDS for location to route to

ECM kitchen locations must be configured to route orders to a specified Fresh KDS device. 


Path: Edit a site > Areas > Locations > Kitchen location 

  • Select Kitchen area
  • Go to Locations tab and select the location that will route orders to a Fresh KDS device. 
    • Location type: Kitchen 
    • Output Type: Video 
  • Route to Fresh KDS device: Select the Fresh KDS device (configured in Fresh Tools) that orders will be routed to from this location.  (Default: None) 
  • Click Refresh list to update the list of available Fresh KDS devices. (Changes cannot be made to the location screen while update is in progress.)

Fresh KDS uses a location site for each restaurant.

The admin must pair their restaurant site to the Fresh KDS location site using an authentication token to ensure they are matching to the correct Fresh KDS location site.

Create Fresh KDS locations (these are the restaurant sites): 

Path: Edit a site > Kitchen 

  • Click Configure Fresh KDS
  • Fresh KDS Authentication token: Enter the authentication token created in the Fresh Tools account. 
  • Click Authenticate. This sill populate the list of Fresh KDS location sites.
  • Select the Fresh KDS location site to pair to this restaurant site: From the list of Fresh KDS locations (created in Fresh Tools), select the corresponding Fresh KDS location site. 
  • Click Pair

Sites > Kitchen: Pair site to Fresh KDS location; map kitchen location to Fresh KDS device

After pairing the restaurant site to a Fresh KDS location site, map the kitchen locations (restaurant site) to Fresh KDS devices (Fresh KDS location site). (Fresh KDS devices are configured in Fresh Tools.)




Path: Edit a site > Kitchen 

  • Select a kitchen location. 
  • Select a Fresh KDS Device from the list. Order items will be routed from the selected location to the selected Fresh KDS device. 
  • Click Refresh list to update the list of available Fresh KDS devices.

NorthStar Pay

Sites > Receipts > Bar/QR codes tab: Configure settings for link to NS Pay landing page

This new feature expands on NorthStar Pay functionality.

Admins can configure the site to take guests to a landing page on their mobile device when they scan/enter the QR code on their receipt. This landing page can contain links to other sites, e.g., survey, special offers page, mobile payment, etc.

When toggle is enabled, the NS Pay settings on Bar/QA codes configuration are shown.

  • Click Add the following links on landing page to add links on landing page.

Payeezy Integration

Online Ordering: Add Payeezy option to online ordering configuration

Payeezy has been added to list of credit card processors available for online ordering.

A customer-specific payment page ID and transaction key provided by Payeezy are required for setup.

Text to Pay via NS Pay

THIS FEATURE WILL BE AVAILABLE IN AN UPCOMING APP RELEASE. The ECM work is part of the feature development effort.

Sites > Receipts > Bar/QR Codes: Add a setting for the text-to-pay payment message by site

Part of the larger Text-to-Pay feature effort in development. 

Setting allows admin to create customized text that will be sent to the guest's mobile device for payment.

UltiPro Employee Integration

Concepts > UltiPro: Use setting marked Active
 

An account may include multiple concepts. Only one concept has to be configured for UltiPro and marked Active for the UltiPro settings to apply to all concepts within the account. 
All concepts in the account will inherit the UltiPro settings created in the Active account. 
(If UltiPro settings are configured in another concept, only the settings in the Active concept will apply to all concepts.)

Concepts > UltiPro: Add UltiPro Integration configuration settings 

When the feature toggle is enabled, a new tab - UltiPro - is available in Concepts. UltiPro configuration settings include access keys, user name and password, report paths and report frequency.

    • Client access key

  • UltiPro settings continued 
    • Frequency in minutes - Timing for report information to be pulled 
  • Time Record Export 
    • FTP Server - The server hosting the time records and time record adjustments files that UltiPro will pick up/listen to
    • FTP SSH Host Key Fingerprint - Also known as RSA Key. Ensures that the client is connecting to the correct FTP server.
    • User name
    • Password 
    • Path: Time Records - The folder in the FTP server where the files will be uploaded
    • Path: Time Record Adjustments -  The folder in the FTP server where the files will be uploaded
    • Frequency in minutes - Timing for report information to be pulled

UltiPro: Save employee changes and deploy to stores

Changes made to employee records in UltiPro are transmitted to ECM and then deployed to stores. 



  • Manager/admin makes changes to users in UltiPro
  • Based on frequency, UltiPro sends the changes to the ECM database
  • ECM deploys the employee changes to sites 

UltiPro Time Record Integration

Jobs: Revise job permission; allow time records and time record adjustments to be excluded from UltiPro from users with permission selected 

An account may wish to exclude user data from certain jobs from being sent to UltiPro integration or from any third party. To exclude user data for a job from export, select the job permission "Do not send user data to third party." 

If a user works multiple jobs, their user data is only excluded from a job with the "Do not send ..." permission selected. User data from other jobs will continue to be exported.

Staff Facing: Add setting “Show non-active menu items in menu manager”

This Staff-Facing setting allows admins to specify if non-active menu items can be shown in menu manager. If not selected, only active menu items will be shown.

Component Pricing: Allow component pricing changes by single or multiple sites and by single or multiple groups

This improvement expands the functionality of component pricing. 

In Component Pricing, admins could previously apply pricing on a global/concept level. This improvement allows admins to apply pricing by site, sites or site groups, allowing for more targeted pricing as needed.

The addition of filters on the Data Processing Time table allows admins to apply filters to view the data as they wish. e.g., by specific sites, status or processed time.
