Components can be assigned to any item. Additionally, a set number of layer layers can be configured to be free. For example, the first 2 toppings on a pizza may have no charge, but every additional topping costs $1.00.

In the example above, the rules are configured as so:
- There is no minimum requirement of components
- 10 layers of the component may be added
- 10 of each available component from the cheese components category may be added
- The first component is free
- Components will never be free (except for the first one)
- Default components are not free either

Operation
In this example, the item's default price is $3.00, without components. The component category's rules for this item are to give for the first component for to be free. All additional components will be charged at increase the price.
