Set IP address to the LS6000 unit

  • Use a pen or pointed object to press the reset button on the front of the unit
  • On the bump bar device: 
    • During reboot, press the down arrow/scroll button on the bump bar.Scroll

    • Ethernet tab using the right arrow/home button.

    • Move to next octet by pushing the enter button (to the right of the numbers).
    • After entering the IP address, use the right arrow/home button to scroll to the exit tab.

Configure system on the PC server

After setting up your LS600 units, open the Logic Controls KDS software to configure the system on the PC server in the upper control bar. 

  • Click the Click Sys Setting iconthen go to System Settings.

  • Establish directory setting to pull the XML file from the NSOE Kitchen Output to be displayed on the kitchen monitor
    • In Order Source, select Files. 
    • Click the ellipsis (...) to browse for the correct folder. 
    • For NSOE, go to: Program Files>Custom Business Solutions> NorthStar Order Entry>Kitchen Output.

  • Set IP addresses for to configure the stations/kitchen monitors
    • Select LS Setting 
    • The left panel shows a list of available LS# stations. These stations will later align directly with the external code set up in ECM. LS#1 will be entered as External Code (1), LS#2 > External Code(2), etc.

    • Double click the LS# station on the left. This launches the Setting pop-up. From here, all setting configurations are available per station and bump bar.
      • IP and Screen Mode
        • The IP address should correspond to the LS unit.  
        • Under Station Function (on the right), select Expediter. With this setting, all items from other stations will be sent to this station, which will act as an Expo screen. If using this function, there does not need to be a designated station in Order Entry. 
        • External codes: External code (1) is designated as an Expediter station in Logic Controls. External codes can be entered as (2), (3), (4).

      • Set up the screen titles and panel display mode.

    • Bump Bar Key Assignment 
      • Choose the appropriate bump bar set up. In this case, it is Option D. These will correspond to the keys on the bar and the functions assigned to it. Click the KEY SET option on the Bump key to choose the function that corresponds to the key.
