Summary

Serving options for a menu item show all serving options available for selection and the rules set for the serving option category. The user can select the options to be applied to the selected menu item, set default options and modify prices for each serving option.  

Pricing overrides can also be set by menu, e.g., the price for the serving option can be different for breakfast menu vs. dinner menu. 


Configuration

To add or edit serving options: 

  • Available Serving Option Categories
    • Select a serving option category from the dropdown list, e.g., Egg Prep

  • Serving Options
    • The serving options available from the selected category will be shown
    • Available - Select the options to be applied to the selected menu item
    • Default - Select serving options that will be added by default to the menu item 
    • Use the checkbox in the column header at top to select all or clear all selections
    • Price - Click in the price field to edit the price of a serving option, if applicable; the price will be added to the cost of the menu item
    • Click Save Changes to save changes made to serving options selections or Cancel Changes to discard changes made 

  • Category Rules
    • The serving option category rules (if any) are shown

  • Pricing Overrides

  • To add a pricing override for a serving option:
    • Select a serving option marked Available (an available serving option must first be selected to enable Add Price Override)
    • Click Add Price Override
    • Select the pricing override and menu to which the override will be applied from the dropdown lists
  • To delete a pricing override for a serving option: 
    • Select an available serving option 
    • Click Delete.
    • Click OK on the confirmation message.
    • The pice override will be deleted from the serving option and will no longer apply. 

To save the work on the Serving Options tab, click Apply to save and remain on the page, or click Save to save and close the page. Click Cancel to close the page without saving.

Serving options on menu items and components can display on the check panel and print on the guest receipt.
