Menu Item Pricing - By Menu
Summary
With menu item pricing by menu, administrators can set a different price for one or more items on specific menus from a single view in ECM.
For example, an item may be priced at $5.00 on the breakfast menu, but only $4.00 on the afternoon menu. Same menu item, different prices on different menus.
The menu item pricing grid displays the base price for a menu item and then lists the menus on which the item is available. Administrators can revise the price of an item on one of more menus, overriding the base price for the item when that menu is applied.
Note that pricing can also be adjusted on just a single menu item by using the Pricing Overrides function instead of menu item pricing. When adjusting pricing on multiple menu items by menu, though, the Menu Item Pricing function is preferable; it's simply easier to adjust pricing on multiple items in one view.
Configuration
Robust search and filtering capabilities are built into the menu item pricing function to allow admins to narrow the selection of menu items to those that are needed. Search and filters can be used in any combination to create the search criteria.
Search
Enter several characters from the menu item name or description in the text field to search for items using those characters. Click Search.
The search results will populate the grid and return everything in the menu item database with those characters in the name or description.
Example: Enter "Burg" to perform an unfiltered search for those characters in the name or description.
Note: Active and inactive menu items are shown in search results.
Filters
Several filter options are provided for ease of use:
Menu item categories
Item types
Sales categories
Menus
To refine and narrow the search, make selections from the available filters.
Example: Select the menus filter and select Bar Menu.
Note that the menus header shows (1) to indicate that one item has been selected from within this filter list.
Admins can continue to refine their search as needed from the filters and lists. Note that each filter type indicates the number of items selected from the filter list.
To clear all selections from any filter, use uncheck.
Searches can also be conducted by simply using the filters alone (without the Search field) to refine the search.
Filters are restrictive: items can be selected from one or more filters; after the first filter is applied, subsequent filters further refine (restrict) the selection.
Example: Select menu item categories filter and then select Arts Specials and Attractions to refine the search results.
Note that the grid provides vertical and horizontal scrollbars. The horizontal scrollbar is especially useful when there are several menus available.
