Setting up Epson Printer for Remote Internet Printing
Setting up Epson Printer for Remote Internet Printing
Configure Printer
- Set DIP switch settings on IP Printer
- DSW2 8 ON, (All others Off)
- Assign Local IP Address to printer
Configure Sonicwall
- Get an External IP for the printer to use (WAN Primary IP)
- Setup Router/Firewall to NAT translate the external IP to the internal IP of the printer
- Open up Ports 80,443, and 9100 for the Printer to use
Configure Printer Port
- On the GOPS server set the printer TCP/IP port to the external IP address given to the printer
- Keep the printer set to RAW using Port 9100
- Ensure bidirectional support is unchecked
The Server should now be able to test print to the printer. If there is a modem in front of the SonicWALL you may need to setup additional ports to be opened, if allowed I would set the modem to bridged mode and allow the SonicWALL to handle all traffic.
Be aware that this works from going from a remote source to a direct router, if you have a modem or router in front of the sonicwall then this becomes a Double NAT issues and becomes complicated to achieve
