PAX Devices
PAX devices will use either "traditional" OS-Prolin or Android for the base Operating System and firmware. Traditional PAX devices have been around for a while, they are largely updated and configured by PAXSTORE. Android based PAX devices are newer, take some of the settings out of the PAXSTORE and are configured on the device, like: Network Settings, Android Security, Screen display, volume, other apps, locations services and most have cameras. Android PAX devices have real-time status, locations, and communication with PAXSTORE.
Some of the PAX devices we use with NorthStar Order Entry:
- Aries8 - (Android PAX) can be used with Wi-Fi or with Ethernet connection. It is a next generation device to replace the PX7 and PX5.
- A35 - (Android PAX) can be used with Wi-Fi or with Ethernet connection. It is a next generation device to replace the S300.
- D190 - (traditional PAX) Wi-Fi device that is small, lightweight, and fast. It is the best successor to the D210 and D220 devices.
- S300 - (traditional PAX) Wired device that has been our workhorse for most of customers, with the largest deployment that we manage. This device is very stable and reliable for NS Order Entry semi-integration.
