Q: Who configures my PAX devices?

A: CBS is responsible for the configuration of the PAX devices for First Data, Shift4, some TSYS, TSYS  is responsible for older BroadPOS configuration for TSYS merchants, and Heartland is responsible for BroadPOS configuration for Heartland merchants at this time. CBS can add or configure Heartland or Shift4 configurations, through PAXSTORE, if the were created by our in-house team. 

Transactions using EMV


Q: Can I perform EMV transactions table side?

A: Yes, for all processors that support EMV table side. See chart above


Q: Can i perform swipe transactions table side?

A: Yes, with Mercury Integrated Payments, Heartland and OpenEdge, swipe cards.  TSYS, First Data and Heartland can do this with the portable terminals like, PAX D-210, D190, A920


Q: Can I do tip adjust on EMV transactions?

A: Yes, all implementations support Tip Adjust.


Gift Card Processing Via SlipStream*

SlipStream is a middleware product that needs to be loaded on the back office appliance. This middleware sits between the NorthStar Server and the gift card processor.

Processors supported via SlipStream:
