1. Introduction
This document provides information about the latest updates for NorthStar for your restaurants point-of-sale system.

2. Special Considerations During Upgrade
The NorthStar Server upgrades are scheduled and then deployed via our cloud software to all restaurant locations during the end-of-day process.
It is important that the server at the location meets the proper system requirements while maintaining constant internet connectivity or the server will not receive the proper scheduled upgrade.
Please adhere to the System Requirementss page to make sure that your current system hasn't encountered any changes that could fluctuate, i.e. limited Hard Drive space and firewall allowances.
3. New Features
NOTE - Some new features and improvements require activation on accounts that wish to use them. Contact your account manager to discuss and activate, if applicable.
- Configurable overtime rules and thresholds in ECM.
- Declared tips will need to be equal to or greater than credit card tips.
- Ability to exclude a specific sales category when calculating Tip Share.
- Components are configurable to print to a specific prep printer.
- PX7 or PAX Terminal with customer display now compatible with Order Entry.
- Multiple servers can now be grouped into Server Teams to allow for handling of one group of guests.
- Hot Schedules - Labor schedules imported from HotSchedules also allows for setup of Grace Periods and Schedule Enforcement within Job setup.
- When the option of Local Printer is flagged, Items will print to the Printer set for the Device or the Printer set for the Location instead of the Prep Printer.
- Upcharges can now be applied to Prevailing Price Combos.
- Ability to setup and flag Reporting Categories for DSR and Cashouts. You can also choose to have either Sales Category reporting or Reporting Category reporting within site setup.
- We've inclduded a more efficient way to add a loyalty member by utilizing the Use Payment Terminal button to access an external device for for the card swipe.
4. Improvements
NOTE - Some new features and improvements require activation on accounts that wish to use them. Contact your account manager to discuss and activate, if applicable.
- Ability to take Alternate Payments for Web Orders.
- Text of Cash Owed and Tip Share has been clarified so as to avoid confusion.
- Server Teams needs to have active servers assigned to it before being assigned to a location.
- Servers cannot be assigned to a location that has a Server Team already assigned to it. That server will need to be assigned to that team or re-assigned to another location.
- Alert message will display if you attempt to delete a Server Team that has open transactions.
- Menu Items now display the required components, serving options, seat numbers, and serving options of a component without server having to navigate through set defaults.
- Net Sales displays in Sales Category report under DSR.
- Server Teams are arranged and displayed in ascending order for better tracking.
- Staff can utilize multi-select on menu items that have already been sent to the kitchen. (App feature exclusive to DFRG)
5. Fixes
- Discount and refund adjustments are correctly calculated when a refund is applied to a discounted item.
- [OE-8863] - Timeclock: User gets "must log in with Mag card" message when job is changed after clock-in - Users with multiple jobs are able to login into the system properly even after their jobs have been changed after clock in.
- [OE-9549] - When Area Access is not flagged, job still has access to the area (worked previously) - Jobs correctly only access areas they are flagged for.
- [OE-9615] - Checks - discount check, split check, delete discount from an item = Null error (MD) -
- [OE-9762] - Item Summary and Item Summary Enhanced Nets and total wrong.
- [OE-9854] - Time Clock: Server is able to adjust/add punches while on break; has multiple jobs (one has permission to change time record; one has no permission)
- [OE-9958] - Multiple shift cash out combines payments for all shifts after the user's first cash out
- [OE-10061] - ECM: Menu item > Components - rules for max allowed and max unique are not honored
- [OE-10188] - Payment: Error message display on adding new tip or additional tip through Add tip button
- [OE-10191] - Guest Facing: Tap Place My Order when there are no items to send kicks user off ordering screen and displays alert message on screensaver
- [OE-10335] - Gift card payment: Balance removed from Slipstream gift card but payment was not applied to check in Order Entry; error in Payment Service log
- [OE-10372] - Seat number required: Seat number entered on vertical keypad does not automatically populate seat number field on customization screen (combos) or on seat number pop-up (seat number required)
- [OE-10373] - Time Card: When a time record is swiped to delete, the X icon appears overlapping the dollar icon
- [OE-10401] - Reports: Thick Client doesn't match app's business date
- [OE-10513] - Payroll Report: 2-week period ending displays only the last week report
- [OE-10599] - [WOAPI] Need to block the ability to set the check close date from WOAPI

- [OE-10833] - Reports: Payments Report does not load on iPad when you run a two weeks period on DSR (worked previously)

- [OE-10937] - Mercury gift cards: Receiving error message applying payment to a gift card sale (preventing sales of gift cards)
- [OE-11033] - Meal Break: App crashes when taking paid and unpaid break (4.6 app)
- [OE-11053] - Error "Print Failed - The creator of this fault did not specify a Reason" is displayed when printing server teams
- [OE-11067] - Team Sales Summary report: Incorrect sales and tip distribution to new members after they are added to a team
- [OE-11068] - Prorated tips should be equal to tip totals on teams sales summary
- [OE-11082] - Team Sales Summary report: Incorrect sales and tip distribution when a team member has been removed
- [OE-11086] - When sales are set to be reported by Reporting Category, Total sales from previous cashout are added to current cashout report
- [OE-11093] - Team that has no sessions should not displayed or reports
- [OE-11095] - Kitchen Printing: Like components of a menu item are not consolidated on the kitchen chit; "Consolidate like items" setting is not honored (worked previously)
- [OE-11097] - Kitchen Printing: Components printed on print routing does not follow the default spacing; spacing between components is wider than default
- [OE-11098] - HotSchedules: Employees are not syncing into HotSchedules
- [OE-11103] - Cannot override schedule using mag card when clocking out late minutes
- [OE-11119] - Alert message is displayed when an item with tax exempt is moved to another check
- [OE-11154] - Grace period is added to the amount of time on the "cannot clock out after" alert message

- [OE-11242] - Location Manager > Checks - When tapped, the Checks pop-up should not display Paid, Unpaid and Parked tabs
- [OE-11262] - Hourly Sales and Labor report displays label as "Total Sales" instead of "Total Net Sales"
- [OE-11275] - Staff UI - Ordering menu item with 2 or 4 placement causes the app to crash
- [OE-11299] - User-specific DSR adjustment and tip amounts decrease each time the report is run for the user
- [OE-11394] - Cashout is blank after a tip adjustment (DFRG)
- [OE-11440] - Components: Adding a serving option with price to a component item overlaps the options menu icon
- [OE-11453] - Inactive components flagged as available for menu items print on kitchen chits
- [OE-11457] - Printed Time Card: Previous time record that has a clock-out the next day displays the current date
- [OE-11472] - Guest-facing: App crashes when the component category with no active unavailable components is tapped; component category should not be displayed in both Staff and Guest-facing view
- [OE-11492] - Staff UI Payment Screen: Gift card balance chit is printed when gift card is swiped on magtek device for payment

- [OE-11561] - [WOAPI] Open checks request fails if a check does not have order items.
- [OE-11569] - Rewards: After going back to Rewards screen, the app is stuck in loading; loyalty card swiped on a PAX device
- [OE-11575] - MPPG: Payment gateway error is encountered on general refund for EMV transactions
- [OE-11608] - WebAPI GET /sites/{siteId}/adjustments/ does not work. It times out. Mac Grill Lab site.
- [OE-11622] - Declare Tips: Negative amount is not accepted after tip amount entry
- [OE-11665] - (NV) (PWAD) Loyalty: Updated customer information in the Paytronix Fuji site is not reflected on the app
- [OE-11666] - Time Clock Adjustments: Time adjustment numpad is not properly aligned (worked previously)
- [OE-11669] - Time Card Adjustments: Application crash when tapping user's time record tip adjustment (worked previously)
- [OE-11671] - 2 iPads Sync: Second iPad detaches from the location every time the first iPad taps Send Now (vice versa)
- [OE-11675] - Meal Break: App should prioritize unpaid break over paid break if both breaks overlap (worked previously)
- [OE-11682] - Moving a sent item to another location that has already a sent item causes both checks to be "Check # 1"
- [OE-11684] - CC Pre-auth screen is not displayed when moving items with pre-auth enabled to a check
- [OE-11685] - (NV) ComboFirst: Able to order combo item for takeout with a qualifier that is not available for take away
- [OE-11713] - [WOAPI] Remove the requirement for payment on submit order.
- [OE-11722] - WAD DataMart: Time records without clock-out are missing
- [OE-11724] - Payroll report: Search payroll keyboard doesn't dismiss when Print is tapped; list of printers is incomplete
- [OE-11728] - Cashout: Previous day cashout report still displays pending cashouts with negative amount; pending cashouts are automatically cashed out at EOD
- [OE-11735] - Guest-facing Suggested Gratuity: App displays incorrect amount if Other % is selected; other fields and screens are affected (worked previously)
- [OE-11737] - [WOAPI] Apply gratuity does not set the gratuity name causing the session to get thrown into the poison queue.
