1. Introduction

This document provides information about the latest updates for NorthStar for your restaurants point-of-sale system.

2. Special Considerations During Upgrade

The NorthStar Server upgrades are scheduled and then deployed via our cloud software to all restaurant locations during the end-of-day process.

It is important that the server at the location meets the proper system requirements while maintaining constant internet connectivity or the server will not receive the proper scheduled upgrade.

Please adhere to the System Requirementss page to make sure that your current system hasn't encountered any changes that could fluctuate, i.e. limited Hard Drive space and firewall allowances.

NOTE - Please speak with your CBS Representative to verify if you need to activate a specific feature for your account that has a direct correlation with new features and improvements. Also, in some cases the application portion of the work will be provided in a future application release.

5. Fixes

  • Minor fixes to Heartland payment with capturing credit card transactions on PAX terminals and display of last four digits on refunded check. 
  • Guest Facing/Kiosk TSYS returns Auth Code from processor now.
  • Check search populates checks from previous business dates. 
  • A few minor fixes applied to Meal Break for UI, printouts, and functionality.  
  • Able to utilize Chase PaymenTech credit card processing through PAX terminal. 
  • Able to void menu items on a pre-authed credit card transaction.
