INSTALLING A CHECK OR PREP PRINTER IN WINDOWS FOR ORDER ENTRY

1.    In \\HQ-File1\Shared\Misc\Jeff Reyes\Order Entry, there is a zip file titled “NSOE tm88 check printer install”. Take the zip file and install it on the GOPS Server.

 

2.    After unzipping the file and opening the installer , click “Next”

 

 

3.    “Accept the terms of the license agreement” and click “Next”

 

 

 

 

 

4.    Select “Minimum (Recommended)”, click “Next”

 

5.    Click “Add”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

6.    In the “Add Printer” box, select the printer type from the “Select Driver” drop down. In the “Printer Name” box use the name of the printer as you have it in the Order Entry database for the customer site (It is absolutely necessary that you use the same printer name you have in the database.  This is also case sensitive.) In the “Port Type” drop down select “Create an Ethernet Port”. Click “Next”.

 

 

7.    In the “Ethernet Settings” window, enter the “IP address” that you want to designate for the printer. Click “Next

 

 

8.    In the “Printer Configuration” window , click “Next

 

 

9.    In the “Start Copying Files” window , click “Next

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

10.  In the next window, click “Finish”

 

 

 

11.  Now the printer needs to be configured for “Paper Size”.  Go into “Devices and Printers”. Right click the printer that you just installed and select “Printer Properties”.  Choose the “Advanced” tab at the top, then select “Printing Defaults

 

 

12.   Select the “Layout” tab at the top, then in the “Paper Size” drop down select “User Defined Paper Size”.

 

 

 

13.  In the “User Defined Paper Size”, enter “74” in the “Paper Width” section and enter “3000” in the “Paper Length” section.  As for the “Paper Size Name” section, enter whatever name you want. I used “GOPS”.  Then click on the “Save Paper Size” button. Then click, “Ok”. The printer should now be configured. Click on “Apply” or “Ok” in any remaining open windows. 

 

14.  To test the printer that it is installed correctly on the windows side. Open “Devices and Printers” Right click on the printer you just installed and select “Printer Properties”. Select “Print Test Page” from the “General” tab.  If installed correctly that printer will print a test page.

 

15.  To install more printers on the GOPS Server, click on the “Start” button look for the “Epson” folder under “All Programs”, select the program in the “EPSON Advanced Printer Driver 4”.

 

16.  In the next window select “Custom”, then click “Next”.

 

 

 

17.  In the “Printer Configuration” window click “Add” then repeat all of the previous steps to installing and configuring a Check or Prep printer for Windows.
