IMPORTANT NOTE:
Do NOT simultaneously install more than one Lantronix device at the same location. Default IP conflicts may occur if set up at the same time.

GET INSTALLATION FILES: 

  • Go to: \\hq-file1\Shared\Install\NorthStar\NorthStar Order Entry\NSOE Peripherals\Lantronix - Serial

  • Copy the following files from the site to your local desktop where the software will be installed: Open t he Device Installer folder and run the

    • Secure Com Port Redirector

      Once you've transferred these two folders to the site you're installing the hardware, you will need to install them. 

      Step 1:

      If you attempt to double-click to add the TCP port to the Host, the device's TCP port list at the bottom will shrink (screenshot below). To show the available TCP Ports, expand the list. To expand the list, click on an inaccessible Com port or away from the box.

      Example: If a Customer Display Unit is attached to physical port 1 of the Lantronix box and Com 7 is associated with physical port 1, enter Com 7 in the Customer Display Unit's settings under Peripherals.

      • When setting up a Lantronix and CPR for use with a VX805 credit card terminal there are two additional drivers that need to be installed on the Order Entry server in order for the VX805 to be able to communicate with the server and CPR manager. 
      • These drivers are normally associated with NetEPay but they MUST be installed even if the site is not using EMV (NetEPay is only needed when site is using EMV)
      • The drivers can be downloaded from the Datacap Systems page: http://www.datacapepay.com/epay50/2946/
      • Make sure you are getting the correct drivers and that they are the most recent version
      • Once the drivers have been installed the Order Entry server will need to be rebooted and the payment device reinitialized from the iPad once everything is back up.
