  • Open the Secure Com Port Redirector folder then run the program setup_cpr_x86x64cd_4.3.0.3 to install the 2nd program that will allow you to assign ports to the Lantronix boxes.
  • This will install the CPR Manager. The screen will look like this when first opened.
(IMPORTANT NOTE: It will detect which ports are immediately inaccessible on the left side under the Com Ports section)

  • Now press Search For Devices and this will populate the lower area with any Lantronix devices you have on the network. You can double click the devices and it will expand them to show how many ports they have available. In my screenshot, I have both the 2-Port (.200) and the 4-Port (.38) devices expanded.

  • Next click on Add/Remove on the top left and it will display all the available virtual ports that you can assign to the Lantronix boxes.

  • Since I'm working with the 4-Port, I'll be flagging the next 4 available ports on this screen. For this I chose #7 to -#10 and click OK.
(NOTE: If you want to remove the virtual ports, you can go this screen and deselect the virtual ports you don't want and click OK then click Save at the top)

  • After this, it will display the ports you just flagged on the left side under Com Ports. They will be highlighted in a red color to show they were just added  along with a tag that says (New)

  • Next click on one of the coms you just created. I will click on Com 7 and it will show the settings for that Com on the right side.
-Make sure to scroll down to the bottom of its settings until you see the Service, Host, and TCP Port section.

  • Now Click on the 1st empty area under Host
-Then highlight the first TCP Port on your device at the bottom and then type in the IP address of your device under Host along with the corresponding TCP Port (shown below).
(The first TCP Port on these Lantronix boxes will always be 10001, in succession the next would be 10002, 10003, 10004, etc. This is determined on how many physical ports are on that Lantronix box.)
-This will now associate that first physical port on the box to be the virtual port you've chosen to edit this with. In this instance Com 7 is now Physical Port 1 (TCP Port 10001).
(**IMPORTANTIf you attempt to double click to add the TCP Port to the Host, it will shrink the devices TCP Port list at the bottom (shown in screenshot below). You will have to click on any of the inaccessible com ports or away from the box because you will need to expand the device again by double clicking it to show the next available TCP Ports.)

  • Once you expand the device's TCP Ports again, you You can click on the next virtual com port you're going to assign. For this part, it would be Com 8.
-Just like last time scroll down till you get to the Host and Service section of the Com's settings.
-Click on the 1st Host area again
-Now double click on manually add the the device's next IP Address under Host then next it's second TCP Port which would be 10002 and it will add it.

  • Add the next consecutive virtual ports in the same manner and then hit SAVE at the top. Once finished you can input them under the site's Peripherals tab in ECM that correspond with where the physical device is attached to on the Lantronix.
Example: Since I assigned Com 7 to the physical port 1 on the Lantronix box, then if I attach a Customer Display Unit on the Lantronix box on the physical port 1, then I will enter it as Com 7 in ECM.
  • Finished!COMPLETED.
