Before starting up the install you will need to copy these two folders from \\hq-file1\Shared\Install\NorthStar\NorthStar Order Entry\NSOE Peripherals\Lantronix - Serial to IP

...

Once you've transferred these two folders to the site you're installing the hardware, you will need to install them.

Step 1:

  • Open the t he Device Installer folder and run the setup_di_x86x64cd_4.4.0.2RC3 program. It's straight forward.
  • Once installed click on the Device Installer program and you will see this screen. It should immediately show all the Lantronix devices on the network. If it doesn't populate, you can click on SEARCH on SEARCH, and it will detect them all.

  • You can then click on device itself first and then click on Assign IP. In this option, you can assign an IP automatically or assign a static IP to the boxes
  • Once you've assigned a proper IP to the boxes, you can log into their Web Configuration by inputting their IP Addresses in a Web Brower. You can also access their Web Configuration pages in the Device Installer by clicking on the devices and clicking on the Web Configuration tab on the right. Both have a different Web Configuration page:

    UDS2100 (2-Port)
     - You don't need to change any settings.
    Web Browser Login: NONE

  • Open the Secure Com Port Redirector folder then run the program setup_cpr_x86x64cd_4.3.0.3 to install the 2nd program that will allow you to assign ports to the Lantronix boxes.
  • This will install the CPR Manager. The screen will look like this when first opened.
(IMPORTANT NOTE: It will detect which ports are immediately inaccessible on the left side under the Com Ports section)

  • Now press Search For Devices and this will populate the lower area with any Lantronix devices you have on the network. You can double click the devices and it will expand them to show how many ports they have available. In my screenshot, I have both the 2-Port (.200) and the 4-Port (.38) devices expanded.

  • Since I'm working with the 4-Port, I'll be flagging the next 4 available ports on this screen. For this I chose #7 to -#10 and click OK.
(NOTE: If you want to remove the virtual ports, you can go this screen and deselect the virtual ports you don't want and click OK then click Save at the top)
