Summary

The Take Control/Release is a feature that function enables a user to take control and deny access to a table; Other users will be locked out of the session. From there, the locked users can either take back control of the session (if they have the permission enabled), log out from the session (if they do not have permission to take control) or detach from the location.of a location (table, counter, etc.) that another user is attached to. Both users have access to the session and both can perform certain operations such as adding items to the check. When performing certain critical operations, though - such as submitting an order, performing adjustments or taking payments - the user who takes control will lock the original user out of the session while these actions are performed.

Allowable actions are managed through the Job permissions assigned to a user. With the appropriate permissions, when a user is locked from a session, they may be able to take control, detach from the location or log out. Alternatively, a user may give up control by releasing the session. This gives users that do not have permission to take control access returns control to the tableoriginal user.
